In 2025 I’ve had a major re-think about what I put in my business portfolio for my own use – and what I would show other people.
Do I really want a portfolio?
One thing that has probably held me back over the years is ignoring what multi-figure earners have repeatedly said:

Shiny object syndrome.
I keep joining things that look good.
However, I never find the time to promote any of them properly.
Building a business portfolio – spreading myself thin – instead of a main opportunity and training plus tools to promote it.
If you join two opportunity programs you need to:
- Double your advertising budget, or
- Split the FUNDS you have between the two opportunities = diluted advertising
- Split the TIME you have between both opportunities
You can imagine the increasing confusion if you expand to 3, 4 or more opportunies
Ignore all the hype advertising by many programs and Social media platforms about easy, instant overnight riches.
The truth is:
- Seeing results takes time, months possibly years
- Patience and consistent effort is always required
- Some monetary involvement is always required
- Continuous, ongoing learning is always required
Most people don’t last the course with ANY opportunity as they become impatient and move on to the next shiny object – and more failure.

To make real money online, try to forget about the gimmicks and temporary hacks, focus on the basics.
Note: AI has some good uses, but the outpouring of mostly shiny object AI re-creation of digital products by authors who churn this stuff out has clouded the way for many people.
I DO use AI programs. Purely to do all the heavy lifting and automation in getting leads and follow up.
The internet is a huge market place, but these are businesses I have joined in different niches.
